Yes folks it rained today. It was fairly heavy in the morning tapering off to sprinkles in the
afternoon. Thanks to Jon Rush and company for designing a great course. Hey Jon set this one up
again when it is not supposed to rain. This was a driver's course, you were constantly turning left,
slide, right, wheel spin, brake slide, hydroplane left, left and slide right. It was a very fun course
and all 49 who showed up had a good time. Despite the rain there were still 12 novices that showed up
today including 3 newcomers that have never done this before. The Pax gods were leaning towards the
ST1 drivers as 5 of them finished in the Pax points, that's the top 8. Speaking about Pax the AWE Pax
winner for the free dyno is . . . the car that came in slot 39 in Pax . . . Congratulations to Bill
O'Toole III, who lost to his dad for the second event in a row. That's ok Bill don't worry your dad
had the advantage of running when it was not raining so hard.
With only 2 events remaining there are some very close battles being fought. In AS Bart Enz rules in the
wet taking first by 4 seconds. In BS two Miatas with Jim Blanton taking the win and PAX and FTD with
a very fast run of 45.559. Bill O'Toole Jr. (Father) whooped on Bill O'Toole III (son), experience rules
in the rain. Bill (father) is now only 6 points behind Bill (son) for the lead in CS; who will wear the
jacket at the end of the year? Jeff Doble in his modified Subaru took CSP. Herman Bello was the lonely
entrant in DS. Ken Buck on new used Hoosiers cleaned up. The big story in DSP is Allen Hefner in his newly
acquired MG, racing red of course is out for his first big test and tune. Other than leaking a little oil
everything went well. The best car handler today is Bob Frank in EP. Bob was having a blast today sliding
that bug around every corner. Steven Rosenberg took the easy win in ES and he hopes that rains the rest of
the year. ESP seems to be getting bigger as more and more people get away from Steve L. and Joe S. in SS.
Today Aaron Fry topped out in ESP over Ian McFetridge by .4 seconds. Tom Disessa was the lonely driver in
FS. Vlad took first in HS doing it in his last run which was the last car to run today. Joe Savukinas
beat Steve Landstra by .096 to break the tie in series points and go into a 2 point lead with two events
remaining. With 2 events remaining Patric Goss won today in ST1 who is now tied for the series lead in
ST1 with Brian Van Lieu. Sorry I almost left this one out but The Vitek family had their family reunion
at our event today. Two of them live here in the Phia area and two flew up from Florida. AutoX's are
also good outings for Weddings and Birthdays.
Thanks again to all who showed and helped to make today a really fun day. It was really fun to see all
the drivers showing off all of their driving skills as they tried to negotiate a very wet course. See
you all in Nazareth this Sunday for event 12 of 13. Who will win and who will lose is the big question
with many of the points races either tied or very close. Come out to see who will win.
